Charles Willis Burton, 80 of Little Rock passed away Friday at his home. He was born November 26, 1944 in Pine Bluff to the late, Charles W. Burton Sr. and Edith Calhoun. He graduated from Star City High School in 1962 where he was president of his senior class. He graduated from Hendrix College with a degree in biology, and married his wife Toni in 1966. He worked for Tinker Air Force Base for four years, then went to work for the Social Security Administration in 1970 and worked there for 37 years, retiring in 2007. He found a love for genealogy in retirement and spent years researching his ancestors. Charles was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution where he served as chapter president from 2019 thru 2022. He also enjoyed photography and spending time with his family.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Toni, and a brother, Mickey Edmonds.
Survivors include a son, Philip Burton of Minneapolis MN, a daughter, Leigh Ann Brannon (Tom) of Little Rock, a granddaughter, Sophia Brannon also of Little Rock and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM until funeral service time at 11:00 AM at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Bro. Tyler McKinney officiating.
