Edith Manns

Edith Francis Wise Manns, 67, widow of Joe Manns, passed away peacefully at her home in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, on August 5, 2025. Born December 8, 1957, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Ray Coleman Wise and Rachel Ann Foley Wise. A proud graduate of Woodford County High School, Edith spent her working years in restaurants and factories, where her dedication and no-nonsense work ethic made a lasting impression. She and Joe shared 42 loving years of marriage before his passing in 2023, creating a life full of laughter, love, and family.

Edith had a special sense of humor that was all her own—she loved giving nicknames to those closest to her, a small but meaningful way she showed affection. Her sharp wit and playful spirit brought joy to everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her children: Stephanie McKinney of Lawrenceburg, Sandra (Emery) Shanks of Richmond, Brandy (Justin) Wilson of Versailles, and Steven Owens of Lawrenceburg; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one on the way; her brother Phillip (Wilma) Wise and sisters Karen (Tom) Liddle, Fay (Scottie) Wooldridge, Trisha Wise, and Margaret (Danny) Couch. She also leaves behind her beloved little dog, Chloe, who rarely left her side. Edith found joy in classic country music, her flowers, and her favorite Fox News programs—but above all, it was her family who meant the most to her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Hospice nurses—Shirley, Libby, Flex, Patty, and Dawn—whose kindness and care brought comfort in her final days. Edith’s love, laughter, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, also at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Rose Crest Cemetery where pallbearers will be Stephanie McKinney, Kody Reed, Zachary Hollister, Madison McKinney, Jerry Farler and Matthew Liter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steven Owens, Sandra Shanks and Joseph Liter. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to either Blackburn and Ward Funeral home or Hospice of Frankfort. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and leave messages condolence here on Edith’s tribute page.
