Elda Turner

Elda M. Turner, age 96, of Fremont, died on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Manawa Community Nursing Center. She was born on September 29, 1928 in Town of Wolf River, WI, the daughter of  the late Fred and Martha (Krenke)Bartelt.  

On May 21, 1955, Elda married  Marion Turner at Zion Lutheran Church in the Town of Caledonia. Together they had one daughter, Marilyn. Marion preceded her in death on March 31, 2011 and her daughter Marilyn preceded her in death on October 25, 2013.

Elda cared for her home and her family. She and Marion enjoyed gardening and Elda loved to can and freeze the abundant harvest. She also enjoyed reading, baking and quilting.  Elda was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield .  

Elda is survived by two nephews, Robert (Linda) Bartelt, Manawa and Ronald (Debbie) Bartelt, Sheboygan; her sister-in-law, Marcella Bartelt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends..  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, her daughter, Marilyn; four brothers, Oscar, Clarence, Edgar and Otto and a sister, Elsie.  

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Lewin Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Fremont.  Rev. Brian Weber will officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11AM until the time of service.  Interment will be in Wolf River Cemetery.  The Lewin Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
