Smith, Eleanor (nee Avery)- Eleanor Joanna, suddenly at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre, Eleanor passed away in her 92nd ear on October 1st, 2025. Beloved wife for 59 years to Ted (2014). Loving mother of William (Carmela) and Joel (Julie). Cherished Grandma of Derek, Nadine and Gregory (Nicole), Valerie, Vanessa (Austin) and Trevor. Most recently, great grandma to Sophie Smith.  Predeceased by parents Earle (1976), Hattie (1973), Siblings Orin (1943), Edwin (1939), Doris (1975) and Donna (2006). Eleanor was a life long resident of Brantford- born and raised, educated and employed, married with family Eleanor was proud of her heritage. The AVERY’s had family in the Brantford area dating back to the early 1800’s with the original Avery arriving from England to the American Colonies in the mid 1600’s. Eleanor’s life was celebrated privately with family. The family is very grateful for the exceptional care that Eleanor received by the team at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre.
