Frances Ruff

Frances Estelle Pressley Ruff, born on September 1, 1943, in Tryon, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, at the age of 81, at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Frances was a devoted member of the Baptist faith and went to Tryon High School. She cherished her family above all else, finding great joy in their company and accomplishments. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David F. Ruff, Sr., and her sisters, Elizabeth Oliver and Margaret Pressley. She is survived by her loving children: David F. Ruff Jr. of Fletcher, NC; Henry C. Ruff of Hoboken, GA; Eric Ruff of Mill Springs, NC; Pamela L. Williams of Dallas, TX; Debra D. Punte of Greenville, SC; and Rebecca D. Ruff of Hendersonville, NC. She also leaves behind 22 cherished grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Frances is further survived by her brother, Robert P. Pressley of Chesnee, SC, and her sister, Barbara Bradley of Saluda, NC.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor Frances’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, officiated by Preacher Jason Sain. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Frances Estelle Pressley Ruff will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her steadfast faith. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
