Kathryn M. Guyette, age 72, of Weyauwega, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Waupaca.
Kathi was born on December 15, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Patrick and Patricia (Richardson) Higgins. She graduated from Nicolet High School in Glendale in 1971. After relocating to the Fremont area, she became an integral part of the community-helping to run Weber’s Landing, working at the Fremont Hardware Store, and later managing Jellystone Campground.
In 1989, Kathi began her journey at the Fremont Mobil Gas and Convenience Store. Her dedication and hard work led her to purchase the business in 2003, which she proudly operated until her retirement in 2018.
On October 23, 1992, she married the love of her life, Jody F. Guyette.
Kathi’s greatest joys were her family and the cherished moments they shared together in the dream home that Jody lovingly built for her, ‘The Highlands’. During retirement, she found happiness in her favorite hobbies-working on puzzles, crocheting blankets for loved ones, watching the wildlife outside her windows, cooking, and enjoying crossword scratch-off tickets.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years and her four children: Stephanie (Preston) Schuetz, Paul Weber, Desiree (Tony) Witkowski, and Joseph (Rose) Guyette. She was a proud grandmother to Donald, Cassandra, Dakota, Skyler, and Madelynn.
Kathi is also survived by her siblings, Karen (Jim) Hendrickson, Diane (Jeff) Zwiers, John (Cathy) Higgins, Steve Schmidt and Paul Schmidt; her mother-in-law, Edna Guyette; sisters-in-law, Brenda Guyette, Alice Guyette, Dorie Guyette, and Lorie (Todd) Guyes; brother-in-law, Ken Guyette; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Julie Higgins; her father-in-law, Harland Guyette; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence, Marvin, and Mike Guyette.
A memorial service honoring Kathi’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Lewin Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Fremont. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service to share memories and celebrate her life.
All are welcome to join the family after the service at the Nauti Turtle, 710 Wolf River Dr., Fremont, for a buffet dinner and drinks, and to continue sharing their favorite memories of Kathi.
