Renee M. Suzda, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 3, 2025, at the age of 81 in New Lisbon, WI. She was the daughter of Jesse and Lola (Ottenson) Pritchard and was born on August 1, 1944, in Adams, WI.
Renee graduated from Adams Friendship High School in 1962 and pursued further education at Midstate College in Wisconsin Rapids, where she honed her skills in secretarial work. Her academic pursuits led her down a path of lifelong learning and professional development. On October 9, 1965, she married the love of her life, James Suzda, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams.Â
Professionally, Renee worked at Nepco Paper Company for several years. Her keen mind and attention to detail served her well as she transitioned into paralegal work, where she became an indispensable asset to several law firms. Renee’s career was a testament to her work ethic and her ability to adapt and excel in different roles. After her husband passed away in 2017, she retired and moved to New Lisbon to be closer to family.
Renee’s interests were a reflection of her love for mental challenges and her commitment to her family. She was an avid solver of crossword puzzles and sudoku, finding joy and relaxation in the intricacies of each puzzle. Her greatest delight, however, was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Renee spent many years attending cheer competitions, proudly supporting her granddaughter and cherishing every moment of their achievements.
Described by those who knew her as loving and selfless, Renee’s presence was a source of comfort and strength. She was the kind of person who put others before herself, offering her support and kindness without expecting anything in return. Her legacy of love is carried on by her two sons, James (Cindy) Suzda of New Lisbon and Corey (Kim) Suzda of Wisconsin Rapids; her sister, Yvonne Adrain of Rockledge, FL; and her grandchildren, Erica (Tyler), Alicia, and Christopher Suzda.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband James Suzda Sr. in 2017, her sisters Kathryn Penny and Jacqueline Steen, and her brother Andrew Pritchard.
A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in the All Souls Cemetery in Rudolph, WI. The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com
