Robert Day

Robert Lee Day Sr peacefully passed away and went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2025 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina. He was born on February 3, 1932 in Kannapolis, North Carolina to the late Roy E. Day and Minnie Lee Pruitt Day. He graduated from Winecoff School in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Robert joined the US Navy and served honorably until retiring in 1972 and moving to Hendersonville.

Robert was a beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He was predeceased by his late wife, Faye King Day. His brothers Roy Algenon Day and James Franklin Day. And his children Cynthia Ann Day and Gregory Thomas Day.

Robert is survived by his former wife Carol T. Day, his lifelong partner Wilma Jamerson and his daughter/caregiver Gloria Jamerson. He is also survived by his daughters Monica Ledford(Jim) of Asheville, North Carolina, Kimberly Con(Jackie) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Denise Rowe(MIchael) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Stephanie Abrams(Scott) of Foxfire Village, North Carolina, Christ Day Briggs(Shawn) of Hendersonville, North Carolina. His son Robert Lee Day Jr. of FT. Lauderdale, Florida. His grandchildren Tom Ledford(Sarah), Jackie Corn Jr(Bethany), Lindsay Corn(Zak Ristau), Ashley Day, Corey Day, Lily Rowe, and Will Blythe. And his great-grandchildren John Ledford, Eric Ledford, Gracie Corn, Charlotte Corn, Zander Ristau, Caroline Casoria and Lorelei Ristau. Robert is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews

There will be a visitation held to honor Robert’s life on August 6th, 2025 that will begin at 11:00 AM and will end at 12:00 PM. There will be a funeral service to follow after at 12:00 PM. Kevin Travis will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to Four Seasons Hospice in honor of Robert.
