Robert Rottscheit

Our souls are Gods, but the memories are ours.

This is the journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It’s all part of the “Master’s” Plan, a step on the road to home.

Robert L. “Bob” Rottscheit, age 85, of Marshfield entered his heavenly home on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Wells Nature View in Marshfield under the care of St. Croix Hospice-Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 12, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, at 9:30 AM at the church. The honor of pallbearers belongs to: Korey Rottscheit, Brandon Rodriguez, Scott Weber and Jerald and Jace Tice.

Bob was born in Marshfield on April 9, 1940 to William and Erva Rottscheit. He was educated at St. John’s Grade School, Columbus High School and took the farm short course at the University of Madison. On September 1, 1962, Bob was united in marriage to Sharon Taylor at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Pittsville, WI. Bob farmed for 25 years in Stratford and also helped with Rottscheit’s Licensed CBRF Home for 20 years. When his son took over the farm, Bob drove gasoline tanker for Sihelzal and the Baltus Company for 10 years. After retirement, he cherished the time spent with family and grandchildren, also the time spent at his summer home in English River, Ontario, Canada. His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, shooting pool, playing cards and anything he could fix or build.

He was a long-time member of St. Andrew’s Parish in Rozellville and a present member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 62 years; his children: Kenneth (Carla) Rottscheit of Marshfield, Kelly (Michael) Rodriguez of Spencer and Konny (Darvy) Bushman of Marshfield; his grandchildren: Brandon (Patience) Rodriguez, Jordann (Scott) Weber, Korey (Stephanie) Rottscheit and Taylor (Jerald) Tice; his great-grandchildren: Jace, Olivia and Owen and step-grandchildren, Skyler and Sterling Finck, Corey (Martha) Bushman and Caden, Hailey, Andy and Adam, Brad Bushman and Camden, Amber (Josh) Janssen and Ariya and Harper along with many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws and grandson, Trai Whetstone. He was loved deeply and will be missed.

Special thanks to: Wells Nature View and all their staff, St. Croix Hospice and Inclusa for your compassionate care of Bob.

Dad’s favorite sayings to us kids were, “Be good, and if you can’t be good, be careful” and around the campfire, “if a pig drinks a quart of buttermilk. . . .!” Love you Dad!

Bob – “Thanks for the memories! You will live on in our hearts forever, remembering good times, places and things and we will smile.” Love, Sharon
