Wilbert “Willy” Tatton, age 79, of McCandless, formerly of Pittsburgh’s Northside, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025.
Born on December 21, 1945, Willy was the son of the late Joseph and Edith (Cameron) Tatton. He was a proud Northsider who carried the strength and character of his roots with him throughout his life.
Willy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Helene (Struver) Tatton, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Choice Leitch, Charles Tatton, and Anna Berksazi.
Willy leaves behind his devoted children, Troy T. Tatton and Tina Bailey (Scott), and was a proud grandfather to Trevor and Trent Bailey, whose lives he touched deeply with his warmth and humor. He is also survived by his siblings Joseph Tatton, Thomas Tatton, Daniel Tatton, Palma Hoover, and Georgeanne Kaptenovich.
A man of quiet strength and boundless energy, Willy had a passion for fitness and staying active. He could often be found working out, and he also enjoyed playing softball and bowling—activities that brought him both joy and camaraderie. Willy’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and spirited living. He will be remembered for his loyalty to family, his gentle nature, and his enduring sense of fun.
