Mary McClanahan

Mary Carolyn McClanahan, age 83, of LaGrange, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Baptist Hospital in LaGrange. She was born August 11, 1942 in Bedford, Kentucky, the daughter of Wilda C. and Grace A. (Maddox) Corley.

Mrs. McClanahan retired as a cold cook from the hospital in Lagrange when it was known as Baptist Hospital Northeast. She was a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, and enjoyed fishing, cooking for her family, and lottery scratch off tickets.

Her surviving family includes three daughters: Michelle Powers and her husband, Jeff of Jericho, Kentucky, Tammy McClanahan of Smithfield, Kentucky, and Buffy Burgan and her husband, Gene of LaGrange; two sons: J.T. McClanahan and his wife, Jennifer of LaGrange, and Steven McClanahan and his wife, Kathy Zseger of Radcliff, Kentucky; three sisters: Janice Barr and her husband, Ronnie of Bedford, Rhonda Kendall of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Patricia Callis and her husband, Troy of Bedford; three brothers: David Corley of Carrollton, Kentucky, Gary Corley and his wife, Sharon of Joplin, Missouri, and Douglas Corley of LaGrange; fifteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.T. McClanahan on September 20, 1993; two sisters: Roberta Payton and Vonnie Colvin; and two brothers: Darrel Corley and DuWayne Corley.

Chaplain Susan Arnold will officiate at the funeral services.
